How to enjoy our creations
Each of our creations is made with care, to accompany your gentle moments. Here are our tips to enjoy them fully, for a long time, and with complete peace of mind.
Your candle
Our candles are hand-poured by Belgian candle makers, in pure certified plant-based wax. Their fragrances, developed by a perfumer near Grasse, are free from CMR substances, phthalates and parabens.
For a beautiful burn
- The first time you light it, let the whole surface of the wax melt before putting it out. This prevents tunnelling, and your candle will burn evenly to the end.
- Trim the wick to 4 mm before each use: the flame stays beautiful, with no smoke or black marks on the glass.
- Keep the wick straight and centred. If your candle has several wicks, light them all.
- Keep it away from draughts, which make the flame flicker and the wax melt unevenly.
- Stop using it when about 1 cm of wax remains at the bottom: the container could overheat.
Safe use
- Never leave a burning candle unattended, and put it out before leaving the room or going to sleep.
- Place it on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface, away from curtains, paper, shelves and anything flammable.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
- Never move a candle while it is burning or while the wax is still liquid.
- Never put it out with water or a lid: water can make hot wax splash and crack the glass. Use a snuffer, or blow gently.
- Never let the flame touch the edge of the container, and leave a few centimetres between two burning candles.
- Never drop anything into the wax, such as matches or wick trimmings.
- The container gets hot while burning: let it cool before touching it.
- If the flame becomes too high or starts smoking, put the candle out, let it cool and trim the wick before relighting.
A second life for your jar
- Once your candle is finished, place the jar in the freezer for an hour: the remaining wax comes away on its own. Then wash it in hot soapy water.
- It becomes a lovely pencil pot, a small vase… or a nest for a few herb seeds. Our little seed packets are coming soon!
Your reed diffuser
Our diffusers have a gentle base of plant-based glycerine, alcohol-free, with our fragrances developed by a perfumer near Grasse, free from CMR substances, phthalates and parabens. The natural, undyed rattan reeds draw the fragrance up gently.
Getting started
- Remove the cap and place the bottle on a flat, stable surface, ideally on a coaster or small tray: a drop of fragrance can stain or damage varnished wood, marble or plastic.
- Insert the reeds gently: the liquid level rises a little, so wipe away any drops.
- The first time, turn them over several times so they soak well. After that, once or twice a week: the more often you turn them, the fuller the scent.
- Turn them over above a sink or a cloth, and wash your hands afterwards. If you have sensitive skin, wear gloves.
- Place your diffuser near a passageway, out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
- For a lighter scent, remove a few reeds; for a stronger scent, add some.
- Choose the size of your diffuser according to the size of the room.
When refilling
- Replace the reeds with each refill: saturated reeds diffuse less well and keep the previous scent.
- Never add water or any other product to the bottle.
- Refills and rattan reeds are available in our shop, to continue the journey.
Safe use
- Never set the reeds alight, and do not place your diffuser near a flame or a burning candle.
- Keep it out of reach of children and pets, who could knock the bottle over.
- Do not swallow, do not apply to the skin. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. If swallowed, contact the Belgian Poison Centre on 070 245 245.
Your room spray
Like our diffusers, our sprays have a gentle base of plant-based glycerine, alcohol-free, designed for life in a home with children, pets and plants. A few common-sense rules still matter.
How to use
- A few sprays are enough, upwards and in the centre of the room.
- It is suitable for fabrics and porous surfaces: curtains, cushions, household linen. On a delicate fabric, test it first on a hidden spot.
- Avoid varnished or lacquered furniture and leather, where a drop could leave a mark.
Safe use
- Never spray towards the face, eyes or mouth, nor directly on skin or on an animal.
- Do not spray near a flame or a heat source.
- Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. In case of contact with the eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water. If swallowed, contact the Belgian Poison Centre on 070 245 245.
- Keep tightly closed, away from heat and sunlight.
Your car diffuser
How to use
- Remove the small cap, soak the wood from the top, then put the cap back and close it.
- Hang it up and tighten the ball. Dose it to your liking: it will accompany you on the road for two to three months.
- Always refill it when the car is stationary, never while driving.
Safe use
- Make sure it never obstructs your view or your driving.
- The fragrance can damage plastic, leather and fabrics: avoid any contact with the dashboard and seats, and wipe away any drop immediately.
- Keep out of reach of children. Do not swallow. If swallowed, contact the Belgian Poison Centre on 070 245 245.
